What is a vehicle mover and how does it work?
A vehicle mover is a special tool that lets you or your team move cars and other vehicles without starting each one manually. The operator can walk along or ride on the mover. They will drive the unit to a vehicle, clamp it on, and use the mover to drive it.
How much weight can a vehicle mover handle?
This depends on the model, but some movers can handle vehicles weighing up to five tonnes, which is great when dealing with large vans. Even small car movers can move up to two tonnes, though they can only reliably manoeuvre vehicles with an axle weight of or below 1.2 tonnes.
What safety features are included in vehicle movers?
Vehicle movers are already incredibly safe by default, but ours come with instant emergency brakes and easy shut-offs in case an operator needs to stop. The plastic covering also has metallic reinforcements. This keeps the unit and its operator safe in a collision with a wall or another vehicle.
Can vehicle movers be operated by a single person?
Yes; the vehicle mover’s operator can either walk behind the unit while driving it at a natural walking speed or ride on it and drive it faster. These machines are designed for a single operator; though, if you have a massive fleet, you might want multiple movers and operators working together.
What is the typical operating time for vehicle movers?
Our vehicle movers can last for at least five hours of continuous operation—and our heavy-duty options can easily handle moving cars for six hours. However, you’ll have to charge these units for just as long. For 24-hour operations, it might be worth switching between multiple movers as you work.
